Hi, my name is LUO YU SEN. You can call me Steve. I'm from Hsinchu, Taiwan, and I'm now living in Taipei. I have a deep passion for exploring different fields and industries, Even if it is tough or dull. My curiosity is boundless, and I believe that everyone is my teacher—even children.

I majored in film cinematography and theater performance. I love creating and coming up with unique, unconventional ideas, often noticing details that most people overlook. As a Director of Photography (DOP), I continuously update my skills and explore various cinematographic techniques because, ultimately, technology serves art.

Filmmaking is a lifelong learning process. In school, I learned from my teachers and classmates; in the professional world, my mentors are my colleagues and industry veterans. Some say that directing is all about making choices—I believe the same applies to cinematography. As a DOP, you constantly decide between commercial or artistic approaches, adapting to each script and project’s unique needs. It’s about choosing soft light or hard light, selecting the right color palette, and ultimately crafting the perfect visual composition.

Film is a fusion of multiple art forms—sound, cinematography, theater, lighting, and color—all coming together in infinite ways. I often spend long hours in solitude, and I love visiting art exhibitions to expand my visual experiences.
